The principle stays the same (members contribute and receive the distribution in turn), but every manual task (contributions, tracking, reminders…) is automated. Digital tontines bring more security, simplicity and transparency to every member.

How do I create a tontine?

You need a Togethrust account to create a tontine. Creating one takes 4 steps from your dashboard: define your project, set the contribution amount and frequency, invite members, then start the tontine.

How do I invite members to join a tontine?

Members receive invitations by email when the organiser creates the tontine. Members who don't have a Togethrust account will need to create one first in order to join the tontine.

How is the tontine's distribution order decided?

The distribution order is set by the organiser when creating the tontine. Distribution can be random, or follow an order that the organiser defines at creation time. The distribution order can be changed as long as the tontine hasn't been created and the loan contracts haven't been issued.

Can I take part in several tontines?

Togethrust doesn't limit the number of tontines you can take part in at the same time. However, credit is binding and must be repaid: match your participation to your repayment capacity so you can honour your commitments.

Can I leave a tontine after it has started?

No, you cannot leave a tontine once it has started. Make sure all the parameters (contribution, frequency, distribution order…) suit you before signing the loan contract with the other members.

In which countries can Togethrust be used?

You must reside in a European Union country to run a tontine on Togethrust. An ID document and a proof of address are required when creating your account.

What happens in the event of a missed payment?

Togethrust protects you progressively against the risk of a member missing a payment. When you create your tontine, you can place up to 20% of your contribution amount into a guarantee fund. This money is refunded to you in the event of a missed payment. If a member defaults, the loan contract and the acknowledgement of debt provided in your dashboard give you the means to seek recourse before the courts. Where necessary, Togethrust has set up a partnership to handle amicable and judicial debt recovery.
